Company delivered $ 4 million to contribute to the abatement of poverty.

 The selected projects will support a 2 mil in total 324 people living in poverty in Mexico City, Estado de Mexico, Jalisco and Nuevo Leon.
 9 were selected civil society organizations that have extensive experience on issues of grassroots development and income generation in low-income communities
 This project is funded by donations that make 25 thousand 108 companies to Fundemex

Mexico City, 12 November 2009 .- In its fifth year of work, the Business Foundation in Mexico, AC (Fundemex), an initiative created by the Business Coordinating Council (CCE), gave a 9 civil society organizations (CSOs) on behalf of thousands of entrepreneurs, donations by almost 4 million dollars for the abatement of poverty in the State of Mexico, Mexico City, Jalisco and Nuevo Leon.

"The private sector is convinced that a country whose economy is growing and developing rapidly, is the best environment to reduce poverty, create jobs and opportunities for everyone," said Armando Paredes, CCE President and Fundemex.

The resources were donated by 25 thousand 108 SMEs and large enterprises of the 4 aforementioned entities, who are convinced that small contributions add up to make a difference in the neediest families.

The nine selected CSOs, through an external Fundemex Committee finds, were in the auditorium of the Museum of Popular Art, the resources to continue to work with communities and lead to the next level through product processing to give greater added value, promoting the improvement of their income giving them access to better health services, education, clothing, housing and transportation, in addition to meeting their food needs, with ongoing training and support. CSOs and selected projects are:

 Casita de San Angel, IAP  Crafts and agricultural production
 recreational products manufacturer
 State of Mexico Foundation Mazahua, AC
 United States-Mexico Foundation for Science, AC
 Group to Promote Education and Sustainable Development, AC
 Network for Sustainable Rural Development  AC nopal Greenhouses
 Beekeeping

 organic eggs, jams and sauces
 Transformation products to make jams and sauces
 Jalisco Center for Integral Development of the Field, IAP
Citizenship Education  arises, AC  Greenhouses for vegetables and tree nursery
 Production of toasted walnut and crowbars
 Board Prosur Nuevo León, ABP  Growing garlic


During the ceremony, donations to these CSOs Rangel Martha Smith emphasized that the foundation is proud to support projects that have demonstrated effectiveness in bringing down poverty by promoting social and economic development of the grassroots groups, is say, living in precarious conditions due to poverty.

Finally Armando Paredes said "we understand the complexity and the importance of promoting best practices that impact significantly on levels of poverty and help build a more equitable platform for the development, above all, new generations of Mexicans." Fundemex is the best way for thousands of businesses to participate to do so.
